Eyelash Extensions FAQ What are Eyelash Extensions? Most Eyelash Extensions are made of synthetic fibers and are designed to be identical to your real lashes. The curled extension is bonded to your natural lash "strand by strand". Lash Extensions are made to look identical to human lashes and are crimp resistant. The adhesive is formulated for a bond that dries soft on the lashes. Your lashes will remain flexible, bouncy and there is no need for mascara. How long do they last? With proper care your new Eyelash Extensions will last the length of your natural lash cycle (6 to 8 weeks). The typical life cycle of a lash is 90 to 100 days, but poor habits such as poor nutrition, stress, not removing make up and using eyelash curlers can speed up this cycle. Your lash technician has no way of determining where your natural lash is in it's cycle prior to application. Extensions are applied to mature lashes or lashes that are long enough to support the extension. Some of these lashes are approximately 5 to 6 weeks into their cycle and may be close to full maturity. If the lashes last 6 - 8 weeks why do I need refills? Each extension's longevity is tied to the fate of an eyelash's natural life cycle. Lashes shed little by little causing you to loose the full look of a new set of extensions over time. At the 3 to 4 week timeframe, most clients have lost about 50% of their extensions. Therefore, refill appointments are scheduled every 3 to 4 weeks to replace the lost lashes and maintain existing ones. Please note: Clients who exceed 4 weeks risk loosing more than 50% of lashes. When this happens an extended refill may be necessary. Extended refills take more time and cost more than a regular refill. How long does the process take? The procedure is very relaxing. It takes about 2 hours to apply a new set of Extensions. Refills take about 1 hour and Extended refills take about 1.5 hours. How do I prepare for the procedure? Do not curl your lashes or put on mascara on the day of your appointment. Thoroughly clean your face and lashes with mild cleanser. You can wear contacts to your appointment as long as you are comfortable. Eyes are closed during the procedure. Can I swim, shower or visit the spa on the day of the procedure? Yes. Our bonding adhesive dries immediately. We ask that you wait at least 2 hours before getting them wet. How do I maintain my new extensions? Avoid Steam Be Gentle with your lashes Do not use an eyelash curler Do not use oil-based products near the eyes (oil dissolves the bond) Do not use mascara (mascara's ingredients include oil as a binding agent) Lightly rinse lashes after exposure to sweat, tears or salt water (salt oxidizes glue) Microblading FAQ What is Microblading? Real Brows Microblading is a technique where color pigment is drawn on the skin using a manual tool. The 3D Eyebrow Embroidery technique is natural feathering of hair-like strokes that create natural-looking beautifully designed eyebrows. Is this the same as an eyebrow tattoo? No. The work involved with microblading is performed just under the surface of the epidermis. Thus, making eyebrow embroidery a much safer treatment that eyebrow tattoos. Eyebrow Embroidery creates the background and fills in parts of the eyebrows that look empty so that a full and complete look is accomplished. The 3D effect gives it an added realism. Is it safe? Absolutely. Disposable needles and supplies are used during the process. Who can benefit from this treatment? Persons who: have over-plucked brow hair have gaps or scars where the hair will not grow back are suffering from Alopecia (hair loss), weak or light hair have faded color from an old eyebrow tattoo want a particular shape for their eyebrows
What color pigments are used? We use quality pigment lotions based in iron oxide, a safe non-active substance. The pigment lotions are specifically manufactured for implantation into human skin. Pigment lotions are inorganic (meaning they are semi-permanent). Will it look natural? Yes, cosmetic 3D Embroidery looks as if you applied a pencil, a little softer and more muted. Immediately after the treatment the color will appear stronger and darker for the first 7-14 days. After that, you can lose approximately 50-60% of complete color during the healing process within 7-14 days. Is there any down time? The majority of people don't need to take time off work. There is usually no swelling within the eyebrow treatments, however this can vary from person to person depending on levels of sensitivity. What can I expect when I arrive at my appointment? You will be given a consent form to sign, then you will relax in a comfortable chair while a 3D Eyebrow Embroidery expert outlines your new brows to a shape that you like. Next a color consultation will take place. After that the technician will "clean up" your brow by removing a few hairs and apply an anesthetic cream to the area to minimize discomfort. Your pigment color will then be applied to your skin. A soothing lotion is applied afterwards to help with your healing process. The process takes about an hour from start to finish. How many treatments do I require? In most cases only the initial treatment, followed by a retouch (follow up treatment). However in rare cases you may require 1 or two more treatments. If you have a build up of dead skin cells it can inhibit the pigment from taking to your skin. Exfoliating regularly helps to prevent the build up of dead skin cells. Follow up treatments cost $150 following your initial treatment. Packages are available. How do I care for my new brows? Avoid washing the area in the first 24 hrs Avoid any exfoliants during the healing process (7-14 days) Apply after-care product recommended by us
